2. Double Cleansing

Welcome back to Skincare channel 💖

Last week, we talk about cleanser, one of the most basic step to keep your skin clean and healthy! However, cleanser is NOT the only step that is necessary to keep your skin clean. For those of you who wear makeup and even not wearing any makeup but sunscreen and and moisturiser need to know this, cleanser itself CAN NOT remove all the dirts underneath those pores, even though brands might claim that their cleansers are deep cleansing but they don't fully do that! So, what's the other steps that help clean every single pores on your face!
The answer is : MAKEUP REMOVER

There are two types of makeup remover : oil and micellar water.

Oil Makeup Remover

Micellar Water

There are also some specialised makeup remover for sensitive are like eyes and lips.

Eyes makeup remover

Oil makeup remover are mostly used for heavy makeup and waterproof makeup, some are for sensitive skin which can also be used on eyes and lips.

If you don't wear makeup on a daily basis, you can use micellar water to clean your face throughly before using facial cleanser, this step will make sure that all the dirt on the surface is taken away and helps cleanser to work better in those pores.

If you wear makeup on a daily basis, I recommend you to have both micellar water and oil makeup remover in your skincare routine, especially with those who wear heavy and waterproof makeup! It is extremely important for you to make sure that your skin is completely makeup-free before putting any other skincare products on your face, because it can easily clogs your pores and there will be acnes from those clogged pores.

I do wear makeup on a daily basis, and this is what I normally use to clean my face!

Step 1: Micellar water help throughly remove makeup on my face (excludes eyes and lips).
This Garnier micellar water is my current favourite since it really does it job and does not dry out my skin. Plus, it is very affordable and easy to find!

Step 2: Oil makeup remover to help melt down any left over makeup by massaging the product on to the skin for around 2 minutes. To remove eyes makeup, pour oil on a cotton pad and gently press it against the eyes for 5 seconds, and then use swipe motion to remove the makeup.

This Muji oil cleansing is also one of my favourite since it is affordable and it works really well on my skin!

Step 3: The last step is to use my favourite cleanser that I introduced to you in my last post!

Remember guys, always keep your skin clean to chase acnes away!!!

Until next time, stay gorgeous 💋
Love,

Cosmetic Chemical and Ecosystem Disruption and Human Health

By Rong Feng Today, I’d like to discuss hazardous cosmetic chemical – BHA and BHT. The chemical components of many products don’t break down and instead accumulate in our ecosystems. Cosmetics and personal care products do their most damage to the environment after they are washed down our sinks. The chemicals are recycled into our lakes, streams, rivers and public water systems. Here are some of the most environmentally damaging chemicals used in cosmetics, including which products you’ll find them in and what effect they have on our ecosystems. For example, t he cosmetics preservatives BHA and BHT also alter behaviour and causes death in fish and shellfish. BHA and BHT also cause genetic mutations in amphibians. BHA and BHT are synthetic antioxidants that are found in many lipsticks and moisturizers. With education and responsible purchasing practices, consumers have the power to stop the pollution caused by cosmetic chemicals, and hence protect our own health.
